Summary of the House Committee Version of the Bill

SCS SB 1060 -- CONTRIBUTION DESIGNATIONS ON STATE INCOME TAX
RETURN FORMS

SPONSOR: Kennedy (Jackson)

COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Veterans by a vote of 11 to 0.

This substitute requires that the contribution check off box for
donations to the Missouri Military Family Relief Fund be on the
first page of all state income tax return forms.

FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds in FY 2007, FY 2008, and
FY 2009.

PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the bill places the check off
box for the Missouri Military Family Relief Fund on the first
page of the state income tax return form instead of on the second
page. All other state-administered funds with check off boxes
are on the first page.

Testifying for the bill were Senator Kennedy; and Lieutenant
Governor.

OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.

OTHERS: Others testifying on the bill say it will only affect
the placement of the check off box for the Missouri Military
Family Relief Fund. There are eight different funds on the form
which have check off boxes. The check off boxes for those funds
will remain where they are, and only the check off box for this
fund will be moved.

Others testifying on the bill was Department of Revenue.
